Sanjay Gandhi National Park, known for the lovely sights of Kanheri caves, jungle safaris and rich flora and fauna, is also a home of hundreds of communities. We visited one such tribal community on the 25 th of May. Our purpose was to spread awareness on the pressing problem of environmental degradation and the measures we can adopt on our level to curb it. The essence of the talk was how plastic is currently the biggest villain in our lives. Being the most affordable, durable and versatile material, it’s extensively used. But we tend to forget that being non-biodegradable, it stays on earth for thousands of years and affect our lives. We talked about how environmental degradation has led to natural calamities in India such as the Uttarakhand floods of 2013.
