Concealing in tribal village

Sanjay Gandhi National Park, known for the lovely sights of Kanheri caves, jungle safaris and rich flora and fauna, is also a home of hundreds of communities. We visited one such tribal community on the 25th of May. Our purpose was to spread awareness
on the pressing problem of environmental degradation
and the measures we can adopt on our level to curb it.
The essence of the talk was how plastic is currently the biggest
villain in our lives. Being the most affordable,
durable and versatile material, it’s extensively used.
But we tend to forget that being non-biodegradable,
it stays on earth for thousands of years and affect our lives.
We talked about how environmental degradation has led to natural calamities in India such as the Uttarakhand floods of 2013. Also, how currently the north of India is facing unnatural precipitation patterns, which is affecting the crops. Such incidents lead to the loss of both natural and human resources and affect the economy of a country.
Replacing plastic with substances like paper, cloth, and glass, is something we should all do in our households otherwise problems such as global warming, pollution and ocean acidification will only rise and the degraded environment will degrade our lives.
